Hong Kong Association of Gerontology is introducing the following three programmes this year: 1) Star Rating Certification Scheme for RCHEs: This scheme evaluates residential care homes for the elderly based on third-party accreditation and assigns them a star rating, ranging from one star to five-star(+) rating, to recognize the high-quality services they provide; 2) Jockey Club Stand-by-U Caregivers Community Support Project 2.0: This programme trains volunteer caregivers and respite caregivers to provide in-home elderly care services, allowing primary caregivers to take a break from the pressures of their caregiving responsibilities; 3) Institute of Gerontology: For many years, this institute has been training health workers, caregivers, and medical support staff, in order to provide fresh talent for the elderly care service industry.
