The Hong Kong Association of Gerontology has launched the "Residential Care Home Star Certificate Programme" to encourage elderly care homes to participate in third-party assessments and accreditations. Based on the accreditations obtained by the care homes, they will be rated from 1 star to 5-plus stars. Homes that achieve a rating of three stars or above will also receive tangible rewards to recognize the quality services they provide. If this programme becomes widely adopted in society, it will enable more elderly individuals to enjoy a comfortable and fulfilling twilight years.
