Wish is Hope. Make-A-Wish Hong Kong is on a quest to grant one true wish for every child with critical illness aged between 3 and 17, in Hong Kong and Macau to enrich their human experience with hope, strength and joy. Make-A-Wish Hong Kong always cares about the mental well-being of the children with critical illnesses and their caregivers, walking alongside them on the road against illnesses through organizing various activities. The Foundation has launched the hospital service project at Hong Kong Children’s Hospital (HKCH) since 2019. Beneficiaries include child patients, their family members, and healthcare professionals. With the support of HKCH’s Patient Resource Centre and Occupational Therapy department, we pay weekly ward visits and organize programs that incorporate horticulture with interactive music and play for child patients and healthcare professionals. Participants can reduce anxiety and release stress through the Wish Planet Workshops, embracing the healing power of the nature. In recent years, Make-A-Wish Hong Kong has actively organized various partnership campaigns with schools and corporate partners to spread positivity within the community while raising awareness of the importance of caring for sick children. With the support of the community, we help children with critical illnesses regain the happiness they deserve in childhood.
