The Windshield Charitable Foundation and Kwai Chung Elderly Mutual Help Committee limited
The Windshield Charitable Foundation (WSCF) was founded in 2001 by Ms. Law Chan Chor Si, who believed in "Caring for the vulnerable and embodying charity." The foundation is dedicated to serving underprivileged communities, particularly n new arrival families from the mainland, as well as elderly, singleton and doubleton elderlies.
WSCF has established five social services in different regions, creating various voluntary networks led by new arrival women who serve as volunteer ambassadors. Additionally, there are community seamstresses operated by women from different generation and diverse backgrounds. They show their love and power by offering haircuts, sewing, and home care services to the elderly and underprivileged families.
Kwai Chung Elderly Mutual Help Committee limited, also known as "stone shed ", was created in 2000 and is located in the Kwai Chung Estate Hang Ping Street Playground. On February 12, 2012, it was officially established as a Charitable Donations and Tax-Exempt Charities. The Elderly Committee volunteers operate, plan, and provide services for underprivileged elderly individuals in Kwai Chung Estate and the surrounding areas, without any paid staff. Windshield Charitable Foundation, as stone shed executing organization, creates a service network through mutual understanding and learning between two generations with diverse cultural backgrounds. It strongly encourages cross-sectoral connections, going out into the community to demonstrate the love, integration, and long-term development between new arrival families and community.
“Be your angels” recognition scheme, the foundation collects stories of individuals and events with a beneficial impact in the community based on the four WSCF themes. By showcasing the touching stories of the finalists, we invite more members of society to learn about their experiences and vote for their favorite 'angel,' honoring their contributions to the neighborhood and community while sharing experiences of community integration.
