Mental health is closely intertwined with physical health, making holistic well-being increasingly important as healthcare burdens rise. Evangelical Lutheran Church Social Service – Hong Kong has dedicated over a decade to promoting the "Healthcare-Social Service Collaboration Platform." This initiative integrates resources from traditional Chinese medicine, Western medicine, and dentistry, emphasizing the collaborative relationship between social services and healthcare to maximize societal benefits. The platform aims to explore medical intervention methods to alleviate users' physical discomfort. For instance, traditional Chinese medicine effectively assists recovering addicts in easing withdrawal symptoms while also helping young people reduce anxiety and depression. Regular dental check-ups and brushing training can mitigate irritability caused by tooth pain. Furthermore, dentists provide free treatment for teeth damaged by drug use, helping them regain their confident smiles and reintegrate into society. When service users establish trust in medical interventions and perceive their effectiveness, their motivation and willingness to seek help significantly increase. This allows us to intervene more effectively in necessary social services, ensuring users receive comprehensive support and assistance. We invite everyone to explore how medical interventions can collectively promote holistic health.
