Elderly residents scattered across 110 rural villages in Sai Kung face significant challenges in accessing mainstream elderly and healthcare services, primarily due to geographical factors and limited transportation. The majority of elders require various forms of healthcare services. In response to these needs, the program aims to recruit and train community carers to address the service requirements of the elderly at the individual, interpersonal, organizational, and community levels. Through a series of training courses, community carers will provide regular integrated care services, with the goal of encouraging more individuals to become community carers and establishing a community support network to enhance the well-being and physical health status of remote rural elders.
