Plan International Hong Kong aims to nurture a generation of informed and engaged global citizens ready to lead societal changes and promote sustainability in the community. With our global strategy – ‘All Girls Standing Strong Creating Global Change’, our focus on gender equality and girls’ rights enables children, especially girls, to ‘Learn, Lead, Decide and Thrive’. Our programmes adopt a unique empowerment framework – • Fostering a Vision for Leadership – Cultivating a sense of vision and self-belief in youth’s ability to effect change; • Building Capacity and Skills – Equipping youth with awareness, skills, and knowledge concerning global girls’ rights issues; • Taking Collective Action – Building a community of advocates leading actions to drive positive change in creating a better future Our signature programmes in Hong Kong include – • Be a Change-maker (BACM) Since 2017, BACM has nurtured around 100 change-makers with knowledge, skills and international exposure through visits to Thailand, Cambodia, Nepal, etc. The 6-month transformative journey comprises workshops, an overseas exposure trip, and a youth-led awareness campaign. • ESD Learning Programme (Partnership with UNESCO Hong Kong Association) Through a keynote lecture, interactive workshops and a youth-led research project, participants become informed global citizens with the awareness and knowledge of the Sustainable Development Goals, especially concerning global and local gender inequalities and girls’ rights issues. • Girls Takeover (GTO) Since 2016, on the International Day of the Girl Child, Plan International organised GTO globally to offer over 6200 girls an opportunity to take up decision-making roles to showcase their power and talent, while advocating for girls’ rights and making lasting changes. The booth will also feature other programmes focusing on women empowerment which corporates can join. Join us at our booth for an exciting opportunity to connect!
