Hong Kong Federation of Women's Centres
Exhibitor Detail:
Under traditional stereotypes, women often take on the role of carers, which limits their choices and opportunities for development. The Hong Kong Federation of Women’s Centres (HKFWC) provides comprehensive carer support services aimed at the holistic development of women, covering areas such as mental health, respite care, life planning, training, and employment support. This includes the establishment of the Jockey Club Carer Space in Fanling and Sham Shui Po, which offers carers a respite space to access necessary support and resources. Since 2018, multiple Carer Café has been set up by HKFWC to provide gathering points for carers, facilitating mutual exchange and reducing psychological stress. The temporary care service, for both children and the elderly, is an essential component of these cafes, allowing carers to set aside their responsibilities temporarily. HKFWC actively collaborates with businesses to promote corporate social responsibility initiatives, such as “Let's Give Mom a Dayoff” and “Childcare Fun Day”. This aims to show concern for carers and raise societal awareness of their contributions. Through multi-faceted collaboration, it is hoped that positive outcomes will be achieved to enhance the quality of life for carers and help them find balance in their caregiving roles.
