Dress Green is a design-driven innovative social enterprise founded in 2021 in Hong Kong, dedicated to promoting sustainable development in the fashion industry through resource recycling, community empowerment, and education. Focusing on recycling second-hand school uniforms, uniforms, and textile waste, Dress Green upcycles these materials into new products. Simultaneously, it creates employment opportunities for vulnerable groups, realizing the three goals of "Reduce Waste, Empower, Educate." Since its establishment, the company has recycled over 3,000 uniforms, produced more than 4,500 upcycled products, and provided over 5,300 work hours for the elderly, housewives, and people in recovery. Dress Green has also won multiple international design awards, such as the DFA Design for Asia Awards and the Singapore Good Design Award, reducing environmental pressure from textile waste and reshaping the economic participation value of vulnerable groups through social innovation. We have offered service to various corporations and schools, including The Peninsula Hong Kong, Shanghai Commercial Bank and Hong Kong International School.
The core project of Dress Green is the UNI Green Education Program, which collaborates with schools to recycle old school uniforms. A sewing team composed of retired garment workers, housewives, and people in mental health recovery transforms old uniforms into unique gifts like eco-friendly bags and pencil cases. Dress Green also conducts workshops to teach students sustainable concepts and handcraft skills, deepening environmental awareness. The signature product, the UNI Bear plush toy, is made from recycled school uniforms and corporate uniforms, becoming a popular souvenir among corporate clients.
