Exhibitor Detail:
Food and Environmental Hygiene Department – Green Burial, Love Living On As Hong Kong is moving towards an ageing society, discussion on the care of the elderly and their after-death matters has become an inevitable topic. The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) would like to raise the awareness of the elderly, carers and service providers on the importance of early planning of after-death arrangements and green burial choices, and to disseminate the information to those in need. The number of people adopting green burial has been on the rise in the past 10 years. Scattering the ashes in Gardens of Remembrance (GoRs) or designated waters allow the deceased to return to nature. It is environmentally friendly, simple and easy to apply and inespensive, thus realising that ‘those who died could rest in peace whilst those who stay could be at ease’.
