Building a Well-Being Community: From Ground Zero Enhancing well-being is central to building sustainable cities and communities. The Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Welfare Council (hereinafter “the Welfare Council”) is committed to a three-step journey in new development projects. Guided by the core values of “love,” “self-awareness,” “ingenuity,” and “heroism,” we collaborate with external stakeholders to develop both the physical infrastructure and social programme of communities, ensuring holistic care and well-being. Our transitional housing project, “The United Court” in Yuen Long, and the Tung Chung Integrated Service exemplify this approach. By embracing innovative thinking and new service models to address gaps, we strategically build communities rooted in creativity and connection. Through fostering caring relationships and mutual support networks, we bring residents together, creating a strong sense of belonging and shared purpose. Step by step, the Welfare Council is nurturing thriving well-being communities. As new developments emerge, we remain steadfast in partnering with various sectors to promote well-being community and enhance residents’ quality of life. Together, we strive to create a future where everyone can experience greater well-being and fulfillment.
