A Plastic Ocean Foundation
Exhibitor Detail:
The booth will showcase A Plastic Ocean Foundation's Biloop Food Waste Nutrient Recycling Project. This project utilizes nature-based solutions and is guided by the principles of the Internet of Things (IoT). Using black soldier flies as a medium, the project convert community-generated food waste and organic waste into a nutrient source for the aquaponics system. Since its launch in 2024, the project has processed up to 2 tons of food waste, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and nutrient loss. Additionally, the booth will highlight the ecological restoration work conducted by A Plastic Ocean Foundation at various locations in Hong Kong. These restoration efforts aim to revive and protect local natural environments, promoting biodiversity and ecological balance. Through showcasing these projects, we hope to raise community awareness about environmental protection and sustainable development, and encourage more people to participate in environmental actions.
