Sports play an important role in the holistic development of children and youth, yet the cost of regularly learning or participating in sports might not always be affordable for all families. Committed to the vision of empowering better youths through sports, InspiringHK Sports Foundation (IHKSports) has worked to provide affordable, professional sports training to underprivileged children and youths as well as those with special educational needs (SEN), ensuring that they can receive equal learning opportunities without financial constraints. At this year’s S+ Expo, we will offer an immersive experience for visitors to learn about the challenges faced by underprivileged families when making choices in sports participation for their children, such as financial and time constraints, as well as knowledge gaps. Visitors will gain deeper insights into how limited access to sports can adversely impact children’s development, and the crucial role sports play in fostering children’s holistic growth and positive values. To further promote a supportive and active environment for the next generation, IHKSports has launched the "MVPA60HK" campaign with an aim to double the percentage of Hong Kong children and youths who are able to meet the World Health Organisation’s recommendation of engaging in 60 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity daily, that is, 16% by 2030 through cross-sector collaboration, engaging corporates, families and schools in this initiative. Visitors of the S+ Expo will have the opportunity to learn about how they can contribute to the "MVPA60HK" campaign in different capacities.
