Exhibitor Detail: Patients with thalassaemia major must rely on monthly blood transfusions and daily iron removal treatment to sustain life. Children's Thalassaemia Foundation endeavours to improve the management and quality of life of thalassaemia major patients, in addition to arousing public awareness on thalassaemia screening and prevention. The Foundation provides funding to patients to carry out haemopoietic stem cell transplantation which is the only way to cure the disease.
Donations to our Foundation are meant for direct patient use, namely, to support transplantation, to finance new oral iron removal medication, to fund medical devices and accessories, and to promote continuous education. We also provide grants for medical research to find novel treatments.
We anticipate funding from corporations to support the thalassaemia major patients. Partnership programs like co-organizing activities, such as walkathons, charity cooking classes, charity sales, donation box placement programs etc are also helping hands to raise funding in financing patients in different aspects.
