The mobile toy library service operated by Po Leung Kuk Child Care Services is the first and only vehicle in Hong Kong that allows the community to borrow toy and books for children aged 0-12 in the community. The vehicle is equipped with toys and books that are screened by professionals to help children's overall development abilities, as well as display boards on key points for improving abilities. The vehicles are mainly parked in low-income areas, allowing children to experience the fun of playing with toys on the vehicles and borrow toys to take home. At the same time, parents can also learn how to use toys and books to enhance children’s learning abilities through display boards on vehicles, talks by professionals, and toy unboxing clips on Facebook, so as to alleviate the inequality caused by economic problems, cramped living space and inconvenient access to educational resources. In addition, the service also collaborates with different sectors, such as enriching the toy books through donations from the business sector; and visiting different housing estates with corporate volunteers to organize toy experience workshops. We hope that this exhibition can connect with more partners to eliminate poverty and reduce inequality!
