Save the Children believes every child deserves a future. In Hong Kong and around the world, we do whatever it takes – every day and in times of crisis – so children can fulfil their rights to a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. We have a long history of facilitating child participation across diverse spheres and their meaningful participation in our programming, advocacy and humanitarian work. While we work for and with children, child participation is a means for us to include their voices in our work and the community, especially the underprivileged children or children with different backgrounds and abilities. In our recent work on child protection, mental health, and child and youth empowerment, we build partnerships to collaborate with children, civil society organisations, communities, schools, private and non-private sectors, especially for those who work with children or are interested in supporting children. We share knowledge and skills, influence others, and build capacity to promote child participation in projects or matters that affect them to ensure children’s rights and needs are met, and hence for social inclusion in the community. The booth will showcase Generation Hope – Climate Change Matters and Youth Ambassador Programme, our major child-adult co-led programmes. We build children and youth’s capacity not only in programme planning, but also participating in climate action and child rights issues.
